Beginner Fitness Phrases I Use In Class
STRENGTHEN WITH EXTREMES, AND THE EVERYDAY BECOMES EASY
SQUEEZE YOUR BUM AND SUCK YOUR BELLY IN
SHOULDERS BACK AND DOWN
EXERCISE EASY AND OFTEN, FOR THE SAFEST RESULTS
START SLOW, FINISH FAST
STRENGTHEN WITH EXTREMES, AND THE EVERYDAY BECOMES EASY
To become confident and good at a movement or exercise, you need to practice that movement. If you practice a more difficult or extreme version, the original easy variation of that movement becomes simple and you will feel more confident.
SQUEEZE YOUR BUM AND SUCK YOUR BELLY IN
By squeezing your bum, sucking your belly in and pushing your hips forward, you will flatten your lower back and keep it secure
SHOULDERS BACK AND DOWN
By rolling your shoulders back and down, it will flatten your upper back and help to push your chest forward. This is a better position for the shoulders with almost every exercise, it also helps you look taller and more confident.
EXERCISE EASY AND OFTEN, FOR THE SAFEST RESULTS
If you exercise easy and often your muscles will get enough stimulus to get stronger, likewise if you exercise hard and less often to give your body a chance to rest, your body will also grow stronger. The easy and often method is the safer route as you age, especially when struggling with stiffness, injuries or joint pain.
START SLOW, FINISH FAST
Another way of saying start as you mean to go on, it’s a mindset of pacing yourself. You’re not actually moving slowly, you’re consistently moving forward at a challenging pace that you can handle for as long as you feel you need to handle that pace
